Its a USB device that allows your pc to connect to your mobile phone via bluetooth

Thats a bluetooth dongle. A dongle that wasn't a bluetooth dongle wouldn't be used for that.

A dongle is actually originally for software authentication.
The word has been adopted for things that now just kind of 'hang off' a computer.
Bluetooth devices etc.
