I've got an interview tomorrow morning at City uni, it consists of a short written exam, a group workshop, and then a single interview - just wondering if any of you have had uni interviews before and can give me any tips??
Thanks

Sorry I can't remember much, the only thing I remember is that I had to repeat words and randomly say things.
I had problems with saying words that contained certain letters
I didn't have a stammer though

Just dress smartt, ask lots of questions, be polite and friendly in the interview, and think of what you can offer the uni, such as union rep, want to join clubs and organise trips etc.
Take cv, personal statement, background research and any work experience you have done and personal references!

I took all that with me to my first choice uni where i am now!
I was 100 ucas points under the tariff and i still got a place, 300 people applied only 70 get a place!!

All I did was put my portfolio out, they had a look, then got me back in with a few others later on, and said we'd been accepted... depends on the interviewers.

as long as you have the grades you'll get in imo

if you wont achieve the needed points is when you need to show off what you'e achieved etc

just my opinion

DONT STUTTER! If you have the grades you should be sorted, just ask lots of questions and prove you have a genuine interest in the subject. The guy that interviewed me had a stutter and a serious sweating/BO problem and it was so hard not to burst out laughing at him must have been the biggest gimp in the place.

Its not all about the grades though!
I was 100 ucas points under and i know a guy that was 50 over and he got rejected!
Its more about the person than the grades! they want someone that will put something into the uni rather than work 100% of the time and not take part in social events etc!

3 lads from my school got into cambridge, one passed 5 a levels he taught himself physics and law and he got over 90% in all his exams!
Another lad was much the same as the last one a mate of mine got 2 a's and 1 B, he was under on the points but is very much a peoples person, he got in no problems!

You need a mixture of grades and a good personality and show your keen to do well

it's not all about the grades as I'm applying as a mature student

uni isn't a waste of time IMO - i've nearly finished my first degree - i'm doing this as another one
