hi
since i got the valver put in, it hasnt run right. it sometimes misfires and backfires, but it always feels very strangled, apart from when it has been standing for a while and then it goes like it should for about a minute.
i have a new idler control valve coming for it this week as it also idles high.
i have so far replaced
leads
plugs
air mass meter
lambda sensor
it is a dis pack version, so it cant be the dizzy!
i did a rebuild on it a month or so ago and replaced all gaskets including the inlet manifold.
if anyone has any ideas it would be great!
thanks
tom

What was included in the re-build, if ya fitted new rings etc etc it might be a little tight while its running in. If not try CTS

i got the crank reground, cos it seized!
new shells, new rings, pretty much all the bolts on the inside of the engine.
i may have to try the cts next, good idea
to be honest it feels more than a little bit tight. it only just beats my mates 1.6 corsa.
the problems seem to happen when it gets remotely warm.
i've looked for air leaks everywhere when i rebuilt it
