My dad seems to think if i take the car for a good old spin, ie 30 mins and then arrive at the garage and sit there with the engine running, when he does the emissions test it could stand a great chance of passing.
Sounds like a good plan, does anyone know if this is worth doing, or more to the point... does it work?

no chance, tried to get mine through without a cat and it failed
but then it suddenly passed, when £50 found its way into his pocket
still, a lot less hassle and money than buying a cat!

The trick seems to be that if u leave the car runnin so the temp sores and the fan comes on it seems to be so hot it fools the system into passing the hydrocarbons test

I know two MOT testers
If i never had a cat on the car, i certainly wouldn't put it back on for an MOT.
