Corsa B 1.2 16v never officially got the 75BHP version of the engine, although some owners lead you to believe that it did. Corsa C was the only one to officially get 75 big ones out of the 1.2.

but Vauxhall never publicly announced the power increase, so until i see proof of that, all Corsa B's had the original type 1.2 16v

i know vauxhall never said anything about the engine change but.....

the only mods to my car have been a pipercross induction kit but am not stoopid enough to believe that gives any more than 0.5 bhp nevermind 10!

also dont tell the police but i've raced 2 of my friends quite alot with 1.4 sports and its always pretty close, and i've raced my other friend with a 1.2 16v corsa C and i beat him! i had a passenger and he was on his own.

this leads me to belive my car and others from around 99 onward had 75 bhp.

Road isn't accurate though, a 75bhp C might come out with 85 bhp on that road. Only accurate way is to dyno test without transmission attached, or for Vauxhall to confirm it either way.

fair comment ian, only thing i can say is that a standard golf sdi was dyno'd before me and showed it had 72 bhp, its meant to have 70.

i'll find out my engine code tomorro because....

wasn't it something like a bit of ECU fettling and that was it?

as for the 1.2 16v vs 1.25 zetec, my friend used to always gain a slight lead.

Guys at vauxhall have confirmed that the later 1.2 16v engines with the new ECU flash and something else are 75bhp, the ECU flashes are virtually identical to the z12xe
