Right, went to post office on 18th Feb to get new tax for a year starting march. We took our insurance cover note, MOT and DVLA tax reminder letter but they turned us away as our insurance cover note stated that our policy runs out on the 25th Feb, which it does. They wouldnt let us tax it until we provided a cover note which is valid for the month we are taxing the vehicle from. Well insurance is renewed but we still havent got a cover note and post office wont accept a faxed version, insurance said cover note will be with us in next 2 days. Major problem, as my missus has to use the car every day for work as public transport doesnt run there for the time she starts. DVLA tossers wont answer phones, no idea what i can do as they tend to be shit hot round here with clamping cars with out of date tax.

What the hell can i do

they wont have a clamp big enough to fit your wheels stu, if not borrow richs tax disk for a day or so ????

on a seroius note all you can do is argue the case with any evidence you have about the insurance company not sending a cover note, with names off ppl you spoke to there etc, if they do catch you ???

Im pissed because we try to get it done early and they wont fucking let you, at the time we tried we were insured so wtf was the problem, tis silly. Its sods law that we get done and other fuckers drive without tax and get away with it, they really are so fucking strict round here probably tow the car away, unless i put a blanket over the windscreen tonight 'to stop the windscreen icing up' as she parks off road at work anyway.
