Hi,

sorry if these questions have been asked a thousand times before, but I've just got my first Corsa.

I have a 1994 'M' 1.5TD LS. From the site I have found that this is a Corsa B. What happened to the Corsa A? Did they ever make it?

The car is a 3 door and totally standard. I don't want to spend lots on it, but want to stick some cheap alloys on it. Do 15" rims with 195/50s fit under the standard arches?

Will the handling improve with just springs or should I change the shockers as well? What are a reasonable make without spending fortunes?

I'll hopefully get it out once it looks a bit better - at the moment its a bit embarrassing, but at least the engine runs well.

Welcome m8

corsa a = nova

wheels need to be et45 and yes 195 50 r15s will fit.

i Sugest u lower it to 40mm as it will look like a 4 by 4 lol

The only arch mod u may have to do is remove the top bolts from the plastic on the arch as these may catch, but if u take my advice about the offset ull prob find that to dont need to remove bolts

Congrats with your new car!

Corsa A is the same as a Nova. It's only called Nova in UK!

Those rims will fit fine, just don't go lower on the offse than 38 or so.

Springs will not improve handling, only the looks! Get coilovers for better handling.

Edit> Too late!

I meant the Nova. It was a Corsa on mainland Europe, but a Nova over here.

Sure did!

It just puzzles me why you always speak of Europe as if it was a different part of the world... Take "euro style" for example!?

Thanks for the welcome !!

I've had loads of Vauxhalls before, but this is the 1st Corsa I've owned. I've driven a 1.0 12v before and we have a 1.5D van at work. Only picked it up today, but when I drove it back, I was impressed how much difference the turbo makes.

Now I just need to make it look better.

Already spotted that, but I have another meet on the same day - the problems of having too many cars. What time are the meets usually?

I was supposed to be popping along to the MigWeb meet tomorrow in the Frontera so will probably still go there.

Opel called the Nova a Corsa to begin with because it meant slow in Spanish or something like that, but Vauxhall kept the name Nova, and then realised that Corsa sounded better anyway

1.5TD engine is a good un, is made by Isuzu, and there are a few members on here tweaking their dervs to crazy levels. there is a 200bhp diesel corsa somewhere in Europe.

It will be interesting to know how the mods will cost and how they perform once you have fitted them.

I have enough power/speed in my other cars, but I'd like this to be a bit quicker if it can be done reliably and cheaply.
