I've just got a brand new black corsa SRi and want to tint the windows. One company I asked said they wouldn't do the front drivers and passengers windows as it was against 'police and insurance advice'.
Does anyone know if its actually illegal to have the front windows tinted? Looks a bit rubbish just having back ones and rear windscreen done in my opinion.
I'd welcome any advice or name of companies who will do it! I live in Reading.

yes it is.
Anything in front of the B-Pillars is illegal (front two windows and windscreen)
It depends on how strict the police are in your area to be honest.
When i get mine done i'm leaving everything but the windscreen.

Thats suprising because I see loads of people with all of them tinted (bar windscreen of course.) I don't want it really black, just dark to a certain point. However, I don't want to be pulled either! But i've never been done for my number plate in the 3 years ive had it so maybe police aren't that bothered round here.

.
exactly the same where i live, loads of folks have their windows almost limosine black and it doesn't seem to trouble the police.
I was followed by them a few nights ago and i thought they were going to have me for the plates but didn't. I actually think they're ok round here.

indeed which is why hardly any people do it.
Makes smaller cars like the Corsa look like some sort of van
