Sorry im quite new to this whole thing, can anyone tell me what the et of the wheel means?

ET is short for einpress tiefe which is German for push in depth.
Its also called offset, and is the distance between the centre line of the wheel and the bolt face.

The higher the offset, the further under the car the wheels will sit. Lower the offset and the will sit futher out.
Standard offset for a Corsa is 49mm, any lower and the tyres may contact the outside edge of the wheel arch but if you're going very wide you usually bring the offset down to 45ish to avoid contact with suspension components.

How do i find the et of wheels i am buying and what et would be best for 17's on a corsa B?

Its usually stamped on the wheel somewhere.

It would be stamped somewhere inside the wheel .
The best offset is between 45 , and 49 .

Would any rubbing be likely to occur on 17's with et 49 on a corsa B?
