goin down the road the ova night and admitedly i was breaking the speed limit, about 40 in a 30 zone n i see 2 cop cars pulled in at the side of the road. so i slowed down n carried on going n pulled into a side road and then stopped for a bit. about 2 mins later 1 of the cop cars pulls up behind me asking me to get in his car. so i did n he is doing me (3 points and £60 fine) on the basis that him and his colleagues think i was going too fast, no speed camera, no speed gun or gatso etc, just on the basis that they say i was doing at least 40mph. surely that cant be done. then while he was there he gave me another ticket saying i had 14 days to change my backbox cause it makes too much noise  piss take
can the police give me 3 points and a £60 fine on the basis that they think i was going too fast?

if they are not traffic cops and have no proof then challenge the points and fine, with the backbox the only thing you can do it get an official test where you can prove the noise is below the legal limit

i got told they cant give you points and fine you without evidence? i believe they have to follow you doing that speed? should only get a producer i think?

ur right, they cannot give you points and i fine, all they can give you is a verbal warning
take them to court and ask to see proff that you were braking the speedlimit - they'l be up shit creek then mate

They cant do jack without proof, challenge them and fight the charge. They WILL loose if they don't have evidence.

same thing happened to me the other day, they where jus 2 cops in an unmarked car, they asked me to get out, and said to me are you in a rush? i said no why? what have i done? and they checked if i been in trouble before and because i didint admit anything they just said ok thanks ju slow down a bit next time

as far as i know they were just normal cops on a bad day. fu**in asswipes. but i ripped the fine n penalty points up n the change of exhaust notice thing n threw it in the bin. not the cleaverest of ideas i kno but i was pissed off n it seemed like a good idea at the time. but they definatly have no proof of what speed i was doing so if i hear anything off it ill just take it to court. im all legal got all mot, tax, insurance, lisence etc. ill keep ya posted if i hear ote off em.
