Buying a classic mini cooper- x reg or so for 7k and throwing money at it doing stuff (parts are so cheap) and maybe put a metro turbo engine in there? when i get a company car next year i can lock it away in a garage and preseve it.

on a standard 1.3i cooper engine £800 can shift the power upto 90bhp (which seems like not a lot from my 206gti) then chips and things. I know everyone will say there are a lot of other cars for that money but im not sure why i like minis so much, but i do :/

the problem is i like a bit of power and my music, so i would have to spend a lot on performance parts and ICE fittings etc, so this would be a big project hehe!

either this (saving on insurance, petrol etc) or a Golf 1.8 turbo, yes pleaseee.....

Im looking into this at the moment something easy to work on and like you said the parts are so cheap, good luck finding a metro turbo lump though i heard they are very hard to source now.

mini are brilliant, personaly i wouldnt put an a+ turbo in it as its a lot of fucking around, personally i would suggust sticking a vaux 1.6 c16se in there (actully easier) or a vtec, both fit in the standard front

of better still tune the a series up with a 1380 or 1420 which will be so much fun for the road, minispeed would be able to build you up one of these

Yeah the VTec lump sits on the opposite side to the driver (compared to the XE which doesnt - sits on the drivers side) so the weight is balanced out.
