Is this easily done? Am i right in saying that this is the only difference between the 1.6 16v and the 1.4 16v engines? How would it effect my engine management? Would i chip it as a 1.6?

Cheers people, and if this question has been asked before which im sure it has im sorry lol

the block will fit yes, tbh im not sure how the management would cope.. you wouldnt be able to 'chip it' as a 1.6 because the ecu would still be for a 1.4..

i would look at getting a 1.6 ecu and loom and put that on too

just change the whole engine. lot less hassle, (and u would need a 1.6 16v ecu as well.)

the above applies unless u have a spare 1.6 block isuppose

am i right in saying if i did that it would put about the same output as a 1.6 16v engine then? Is it expensive to get a 1.6 block?

difficult to get a good one, if uve got a 1.6 16v engine you are more likely to sell it whole. it took me 2 months to find a good x16xe and i hunted EVERYWHERE

TRY MIGWEB OR BUY CAR PARTS MART FROM WHSMITHS.
