just toped up my oil left the oil cap on the battery closed bonnet n went to pick up my sis. got home could smell burning oil had a look no oil cap

sprayed oil all over

My mate did this afew weeks ago

As soon as I got in the car I said " I can smell oil, pop your bonnet" He had forgotten to put his back on.

Done it with the water bottle cap before but not oil

A water cap was £10 from vaux

I did this too when in a hurry, heard something plastic go rollin aloong the road as i drove off, then found my oil cap mising later

Only cost £2 new from Vaux (for an 8v engine anyway)

i've done the same with the water cap, but i noticed half way up my hill something was not rite, so i rolled back down the hill back home

.

lost the cap, told my dad to buy one and just filled the water up. no harm done

wen i had my car serviced they never put the dip stick bak in proper, oil all over, not cleaned it yet, whats best thing to do? Steam?

and you couldn't drain the oil and undo the 10-12 bolts yourself because????

You should have used your nogging dafty, tell your folks it's gonna cost £100, go round to a mates do the deed, go home and shaft your dad
