Just got back from a rolling road session at Northampton Motorsport. Initially just did a power run to see what the car was running at which is:

Power at flywheel: 161.2 bhp @ 5520 rpm
Power at wheels: 128.9 bhp
Max Torque: 161.9 lb/ft
Max Speed in 4th: 112.4 mph

The car is standard except it's got a full exhaust system and a power boost valve.

Some advice about a PBV if you're thinking of getting one....

Mine was set as it was when i picked the car up a few weeks back. At full stink it was fuelling at 9% - which if you don't know what this means (and i didn't) is overfuelling by about 50%. So at top whack it was killing the spark and the car wouldn't even hit the limiter in 4th.

The guy turned it down by 25% and the fuelling dropped considerably and more importantly to the correct level....it would then bounce off the limiter easily. However at lows revs it was running slight lean so i got him to turn it back up a wee bit.

I'm also losing power somewhere else as after around 5700rpm the power just dies (graph drop off). He reckons it could be the exhaust. The system is fine but the back box is a twin-exit jobbie but he reckons that the two pipes bore is tiny and could be restricting the flow at high revs....so that is something i'm gonna look at....

We took the Air Filter off (K+N enclosed system) to check it wasn't that but power dropped by 5bhp when we did this so it can't be that....

Anyway the car runs lovely and i love 4th gear....just seems to pull and pull. Only problem is getting power down in 1st and 2nd is a bit of a problem.....

I'd recommend Northampton Motorsport....guys there were really friendly and knew what they were on about and took a genuine interest in my car....

Cheers
Chump
