can't agree with u more, but i did get a bit of a shock when i got an online quote with elephant on a 93 GSI, with a limited mileage of 5000 miles for £1150 fully comp. Thats at 18 and with a years no claims.
My 1st year was with norwich union, they wern't bad cos i did pass plus and it knocked something stupid like 50% off the premium !! Think i'll go with elephant for my next car cos they seem cheaper than others.

Try tesco.
I am insured at 17 , on a 1.2 8v with exhaust air filter and front grille , for 1400.
Still a total joke , but the best i could find .
They want another 300 for wheels and lowering .

just got a quote off elephant for my corsa GLS, with a 1.4 16V engine transplant, and bodykit.
i'm 19, 0 no claims, but been driving over 2 year.
£1148.70 for 12 months fully comp with £250 excess. with my mum as a 'second driver'
£1450.05 for 12 months fully comp with £250 excess, on my own
BIG TIP!!!! put a parent as a 'second' driver this Decreases your Premium!!!!!! trust me, try it!!!!!!

You are better off getting insured on a standard corsa and then modding it after as its easier to get insured and it works out a bit cheaper. Try Endsleigh they are quite good but at the end of the day you are gonna get stung as you are in the most at risk catagory

Its all about racking up the NCB boys. Some insurers dont even put your premium up £1 for SP30s and SP40s anymore cos everybloodyone has points on their license these days.
Get on your own policy as soon as you can and dont crash!
