Got busted last night while racing another corsa on a dual carriage way.
This chap had a corsa sport i had my sri got to about 90 and i knew he had more power than me so start to slow down and he gets close and overtakes. then cop car appears and both of us get pulled and fined £60 and get given 3 points. I already feel stupid enough now but want to ask what sort of increase will i get on my insurance? i paying 1300 fully comp at the mo 19 with no noclaims and no previous points until now.

help appreciated

silly thing to do expect to pay alot more for it. Still 1300 at 19 for a 1.4 sri is still expensive

i dnt think 3 points really does anything to the ur premium, its when u go over 3 points then the £££'s start building up! i got 3 points (33 in a 30) but told ins str8 away as i wanted to keep it all legal and make sure everything was declared just incase of the worst. but u shouldnt b racing anyway, save it for a track, even if the car next to u/behind is giving it some.

Mine didn't go up as a result of the points, they normally give you first 3pts grace, which is nice.

I can leave my house and drive 10miles and loose my licence in about 15minutes, thats getting 3 points on each camera only! Some say that a person with 10points is less likely get caught speeding again as they are very close to loosing their licence than to someone like me who has 5! This is how some insurance companies see it, maybe sounds daft but it has some logic!
