Just been to pick my mate up from work, onn route there is a country road with a narrow bridge where 2cars can pass through at a push. i was drivin down just gettin to the bridge when i was dazzled by a car with full beem on. started to brake however i was just on the bridge and so was the other driver. we were douin bout 40mph, and the wing mirrors collided and they smashed, mine came through my window in peices which was lucky down at the time and his was smashed. he says im at fault for goin over the bridge too fast??? and said it will cost me £40 to replace it due to it being colour coded and electric???
what should i do????:(:boggle::boggle:

If he thinks you are at fault you have very little choice but to give this one to your insurers.
What is your excess?

Depends if he's going to change his mind at a later date.
You might want to report it to the police as well. They might also have some advice. Basically cover yourself as much as possible.

for a start there is no way his claim for you going to fast would hold up, anyone is bound to say the other is going to fast, and noone is going to believe his judgement based on eyesight alone, you can try saying to your insurers that he had his lights on full if he denies though its your word against his unless you had witnesses?
the best thing possibly to do is to let your insurers know, give him £40 with him signing a receipt and tell your insurers if he trys to claim not to let him as youve already given him the cash with a signed receipt

The same kinda thing almost happened to me last night. I was on my way home with the girlfriend from my bro's house and this car came round a bend i was aproaching on my side of the road, coming straight for us. He didn't really look like he wanted to correct his mistake so i had to swerve to the left, but the bend is raised up and there's about a 20ft drop on the left. The julie said she thought she was gonna die. I didn't even know what car it was, it was dark and was too busy trying to avoid this asshole to get his no. plate.
It pisses me off how so many shit drivers are allowed on the road

it happened on a back road near wentworth.
just got a wing mirror from the scap yard and fitted it which cost me £20 not too bad. didint realise till i looked this mornming how much glass was in the car from the wind mirror, as my window was down.
