Just got my broad band working, ive asked people what they use for downloading music etc and they all say super nova. Could some one explain, do you have to pay for it? all ive seen is you have to subscribe?

Thats the proper website its FREE the other sites are trying to scam ypu. Also you need Bitorrent client to be able to d/load any of the files.
