What Vescocity oil would have been used in my Astra from the factory?

I've tried looking in the handbook but can't find anything, only i want to top it up, but want to use the correct oil.

Its a 1.8 16v by the way.

jus tgo to vauxhall and ask them and it will be in the hand book, you just cant read

look in the index at the back and then check OIL then go fro mthere

Vauxhall site lists oils at http://vauxhall.co.uk/ownership/servicing/engineOils.jhtml

Astra - All engines - 2000 onwards - 5W-30 or 10W 40

So god knows what's in there

I've got the same engine as you and on the last service (July) Vauxhall put 10W 40 in mine if this helps.
