Had this since i bought it,
I was'nt really bothered when i purchased the car because it was so new, and seemed to remember the a similar problem with my SXi when i had that new.
I think its to do with the gear selector.
Like i say when i first got the SXi it was quite hard getting it into a few gears, after a few k that soon went and was fine,
I guessed it was the same for the SRi, however its just the same,
Its mainly going from 2nd - 3rd and 3rd to 4th, however all the gears are quite hard.
I just really have to push it in there, give it alot of stick,
Im wondering if its because im not putting my foot all the way down on the clutch?
When im driving around town (not going over 3000rpm) i dont notice the problem, its only really when i give the car some welly!
Im bringing it up because im not sure if its a fault or not? Its just starting to bug me,
I just had a quick race with a VTR, killed it, however would of done alot better if my gear changes would of been smoother and quicker
I just cant get the hand of it at present
Overall im really please and impressed with the 1.8 SRi,
It does like a drink when your giving it some, however when im town driving i think the fuel ecomany is great.

Reset the gear linkage, it has probably slipped a little.

In my CTR as it was a high mounted gear knob it took longer to warmup apparently and at cold the 1st few gears were a nightmare

Na not really, it takes half an hour and all you need is a little spanner or socket and a pair of small drill bits...

My meriva 1.8 16v does this too, doesnt want to select smoothly when you're acceleratin hard. The FBW throttle seems to hold the revs even after you lift off, have to let them drop back before it'll go into gear, so I'm wonderin if its somethin to do with that...

Also after i killed off the VTR on my way home i seen a set of chrome spinner hub caps
Shit i thought,
Got a bit closer and then seen it was a corsa
It was at a mini round about, was just sitting there,
As i went to go around i noticed two FIT blonde birds in it, one was driving,
had lexus rear lights etc etc
Was right up my arse and i was doing 30mph, so when it got into 40zone i took off,
she caught up and then just stuck on my arse so i went down to 20mph
Wish she had followed me,
she was cute!

Its a very common problem on most Corsa C's, gear linkage needs adjusting.
