How well do these engines respond to tuning? Anybody got any links to information on them?

They don't tune very well at all. None of the Ecotec engines are very good for tuning really because they are so refined to make them run efficiently - you will spend a lot of money and not get much gain. Obviously stuff like new manifolds will help a lot, you can get up to 20bhp more on the 1.4 Ecotec from fitting a better inlet manifold...

the 1.6 16v ecotec tunes very well! u contradicted urself there didnt you

I was under the impression that the Ecotecs weren't as good for tuning as the older engines. I didn't contradict myself. You contradicted me.
