i was driving along a dualcarriageway which at the time was a 40mph zone (soon to be a 50), i saw a white astra in front and knew it would be a copper so slowed down a bit but was still doing around 55mph, i drove past him as you do like and then i saw a camera thing on his front bumper, would this had been able to take my speed and take a pic of my car or not, surely he would had pulled me over if he thought i was speeding?

If it was on his front bumper and you came up behind him it is impossible for it to see you....

ye but as i drove infront of him could it not had taken my reg and that?
it was probably nothing, im just wondering why he didnt pull me over really, was pretty obvious i was speeding as he was doing the limit and i went past him

More likely they can do you afterward for dangerous driving or driving without due care and attention, as a conviction on these more serious matters (esp. the dangerous driving, worse than any speeding charge!) can be secured just with officers statements.

You knew it was copper so you decided to overtake him at 15mph over the limit????
Would it not have made more sense to slow down to 40?

It's true... if there a cop car doing 30 people slow down to silly speeds n crap themselves, stand out like a sore thumb that way... they couldnt care less if u going with the general flow of traffic even if it is 10 mph over the limit...
