i want to stick my amp not on the floor of the boot but on the lid thing that covers it so people cant see what stuff you got in thier. do i need an mddf shelf for this and if so where can i buy one? by the way i want it so the amp faces out the back of the car when the boot lid is up if you see what i mean..

PS do you mean you want to bolt the amp to the bottom of the parcel shelf? Bas idea as it'll fry itself

How exactly will it fry itself? Are you suggesting it could create enough heat in the entire boot to cook it?
I know loads of people who have done this, its not a problem. Plus you see amps enlosed in boot builds all the time with no extraction fans.
