Was looking at getting a Type R. I maybe should have got this before buying the Corsa. So just out interest wondered into the Honda to ask a bit about the Type R.
He said on the road price was £16,434 then another £200 odd for metalic, £1200 if you want A/C then £289 if you wanted the spotlights. Can't have any other interior colour other than the red, no sports pedals etc... though this was a bit steep for the extras...
Anyway they offered £6000 for my Corsa that as the subject says is only 4 months old
Anyway how much do you reckon the car is worth private if I did decide to get rid? Standard apart from mp3 player, boot changer, K+N induction kit and tinted windows.
Also Type R or Cupra, any other suggestions for a new car?

The Astra GSi will just about edge the Type R - but play with it and your laughing the EDS kits are now coming alive and 280bhp with not really alot of cash spent is not unheard of now and literally wave bye bye to anything else in its class.
I obviously biased towards the Vauxhall brand but for the money its a great car.
The only other thing you could do would be to wait till 2006 for the next Corsa Facelift and get a VXR

yeah but is the new corsa really going to be good as the MK4 GSI?, I've heard it's going to be about 175BHP roughly?.
No doubt I'll hang on to the car for maybe the full year.

Oh the Corsa VXR will be an animal.
I drove a VXR220 yesterday and s*it the bed for a standard car it feels race preped. Awesome delivery of power and would show a decent set of heels to a normal turbo.
Its about the driving experience and it will be a very hot hatch according to current reports.

I considered buying a Brand new Type R but i thought it wasnt worth it to be honest. I ended up buying a 2nd hand silver CTR.
Also i would say that the performance betwen a GSI turbo are very similar most down to driver ability but around the corners i believe the CTR wins
