"The obvious engine was a Vauxhall 2 litre, and an obvious car to slot it into was the Corsa. Chris Meeke had made a 4WD version that looked the business but we wanted RWD; we wanted sideways. So we put the engine in north to south and made it all fit. Extended the wheel base a little, used Sierra Cosworth bits where we could. Sketched it out and reached for the welding torch."
