He got his licence revoked for 18months + 5 points + £600 fine for driving under the influence of alcohol and is due to get it back in December.......however he was still a new driver(under 2 years of driving) and hadnt sent his provisional away to be upgraded........will he have to sit it all again or just have it handed back with the remaining months left on it
I told him hes fucked and has to go thru it all again

Yes well and truley. in first two years of driving if ya get six points license is revoked and he will have to sit the whole thing again(theory as well i think). Im sure the gov will have considered this possibility before(other wise he may get away with it!) best to ring dsa - but it might not be good news!

He got 5 points and also an 18month ban tho so in theory still has 1 point....although now will be 7. Or is it frozen???
He tried to upgrade to a full license after his ban but the DVLA told him it couldnt be done as it was suspended. What he wants to know is will he get it back with the remaining months or will he have to re-sit it all
