the 1.3 sr is faster than the 1.4 sr with a few little mods, but they are both piss poor

whats the quickest 1.4 i could get then and being insurance friendly willing to pay up to £2k insurance and 4k for the car.

3k for a MINT GSI with some change

1.4 SR and 1.4 8v SRi in the Corsa are about the same.
But the C14SE (1.4 8v MPi) in the Nova is faster than the Corsa SRi which has the same engine.

one of the quickest 1.4's will be the Punto GT but ya will never get insured at 17... 
otherwise a good 1.4 wud be Corsa 1.4 16v sport but dont expect much change from 2k

I have a 1.4 SRi 16v, i'm 17 and paying £1200 under my mums name. Planning to get a GSi next which will take the insurance up to £1500.

Think the nova was faster , but i read sumwhere that the 1.3Sr was a better engine than the 1.4sr engine?

doesnt matter if a "mates" car is faster
its how you drive it that makes the difference

1.4 8v SRi @ 17, no no claims (obviously ) and it was £1500, went to £1040 with 1 years no claims.

My 1.4 8V Nova SRi was quicker than my Corsa Sport 1.4 16V. I'm sure of it, never timed though.

My corsa was quicker than my nova (nova sr, corsa sri 8v mpi).
Why not look at spending a bit more on insurance mate and get something good
