who knows anything bout these engines, i was lead to believe they are the same block as the tt's but restricted some how, how then do you release the extra hp to bring them up to what the tt's are running at.

i would guess you re-map them but anyone know any decent tuning companies for german cars in the south

i should think the 225 bhp version has a different head design, different manifolds, different turbo and intercooler, different injectors, different management just to start the list.

comp ratio and turbos along with intercooling, manifold, injectors, AFM are differnet on the 225 engine compared to the 150hp version.

for the VAG engine you got Jabba and AMD that do on car mapping then there are places that sell flash program chips like revo and APR

No chance of seeing 220bhp from a remap mate, more like 195-200, or 210 maybe if it has VVT.

A3 T sport - 150BHP
A3 T Quattro - 180BHP

I believe the TT has twin intercoolers, K04 Turbo, bigger injectors, diff manifold as well as a few other bits.

You can take an A3 T sport, to about 230bhp, which is its limit on the K03 turbo. However, it doesnt come cheap. Ive got 2 diff rr's showing ours at 217 and 219, bhp and 250lb/ft torque. I believe this to be a little too high though.

As for Tuning Companies:

Jabbasport
MTM
Oettinger
APR
AmD
Revo

Give Impossible performance a ring, the bloke is very helpful and knows his stuff about VAG 1.8 Turbo tuning, or ask Vibrio, who is pretty clued up on VAG cars

it is a simple remap job - the engine is capable of more like the 300 mark (safely) - if re-mapped at Audi (VAG Germany) - they released upto 400 bhp on a 225 block TT; with no other engine upgrades (unsafe however) - and the 1.8T engine is pretty much the same throughout the rnge

hence the issue over the pencil coils - which all had to be replaced

Think we are forgeting to mention its PS here rather than BHP (divide PS by 1.0139 = BHP)
