Good news, she's been transferred to a high-priority ward (one step lower than intensive care). She's definately stable, painkillers are working and she's comfortable. Doctors performed surgery on Wednesday morning to correct the scalp which was torn off, and that was re-attached. Luckily she has lost no hair etc, so when fully recovered will only have a smallish scar on her forehead.
Neck is still fractured (one of the vertebrae had a hairline fracture, and also a hairline fracture in another part) so cannot move neck for at least 6 weeks. Looks very bruised etc black eyes but will clear up obviously. Blood clot was removed in surgery.
Still in lots of pain and worse for wear, but compared to tuesday its a massive improvement!
Can't believe all the support we've had from you lot and others, really is great and seemed to have an effect on not only myself but a lot of the family.
Cheers guys.

Luton - MK not a bad run though really, just motorway. Accident happened somewhere between Luton and Hitchin...first day on the new job too!
Cruise - haven't been up for a while, but will be up this sunday in mate's dimma 206. I know you get some shitters up there, but I'll make an appearance in the corsa when its finished
Nath - do you hang about on mkcruise.co.uk?

Wow, its hard to know what to say
Well, Im no doctor but it sounds like the operation would have been the critical part, the fact she survived it and is now stable and awake is a very good sign. All you can do is be there for her, she is gonna need a lot of help and support in the coming weeks/months. I wish you and your family all the best as im sure it isnt going to be easy for anyone.
Any news on the other car? Bet the fucker drove off cause he had no insurance or something. I hope he gets caught, keep us up to date with her progress and be strong for her

nope net yet and doubt ever will..
Been a bit more careful with speed myself. Was driving home through a housing estate and a bunch of neds in a red nova came sprinting round a corner. Must have been doing 50/60, very nearly hitting my car. Fuckers.
