Was just driving back from college, hot day and lots of traffic... engine overheating - but I was still booting it most of the way. Came to my road and there was parked cars on one side at the top of my road and in the middle of the other side of the road was this white thing on the floor...

I wasn't quite sure what it was ... was doing about 30ish and hit it. Next thing I see is smoke pouring out of the bonnet...

Basically I had just hit some stupid polystyrine box thing that was fairly large (I foolishly thought it would go under my car lol when I was driving) ... anyway this thing hit my front and broke... crumbling into a few bits that were being dragged along on the underside of my car...

But the majority of it hit the downpipe from my exhaust manifold which was absolutely cooking... Resulting in all that polystyrine setting fire and making smoke pour out of my engine bay... I removed any bits I could and blasted down the road to my house... Lifted the bonnet and let smoke pour off the engine... My neighbours must be looking at it thinking 'Paul's cars on fire'...

Thankfully I had my heaters to 0 and not on, as I think I'm in right in thinking these fumes from polystyrine burning are not good for you!!! and if I had had my heater blowing in my face and that had happened I would of had lung fulls of the shit.

I've just left my car outside at the moment smoking away... I looked underneathe and it looks like its all melted itself onto the exhaust downpipe which will no doubt result in horrible smells for weeks to come
