I have been yold that if you put alloys on that are made by your car manuf then you don't have to tell the insure bout it. Is this true

If they're fitted by the dealer you can usually get away with it on the insurance. Even if they're not but are manufacturer parts you can sometimes get away with it. I personally would inform them anyway.
