Well i think your quote on the sxi is reasonable so maybe we just have different ideas on how much is "expensive" for insurance

thanx for all the info peops really appreciated. i looked into the Corsa B sport 1.6 16V 1997, and that was valuaed at £1k expensive, i also looked into the Corsa B GSI 16V 1.6 1996 for a similar price of £1k. i thought about it and the points made in this post were true its got no potential and just aint worth the money in modding. this has brought my search down to the 2 cars i just stated. if any one knows whats the difference between the 2 cars, i would be grateful. i looked at the performance page and the corsa sport states 9.5 seconds, where as the corsa gsi states 9.3 however that was based on the 1993 model not the 1996 model that suited me in price. Any help or news or avice would be very appreciated

u can get a bit more speed outta the 1.2 16v but itll cost u more then its worth but for arguments sake here goes.
*Dbillas inlet manifold £1150 fitted and gauranteed 20bhp increase
*Cam's £300ish
*Custom exhaust manifold, that means taking one from the 1.4 16v and mating it to ur 1.2 engine (thus removing one cat and freeing up airflow,, while keeping the car road legal) £ unsure
*Cat back Exhaust £200ish
*unichip £500ish Including rolling road tune and dyno.
*should be good for at least 110bhp and an unknown amount of touque.
