my sont hu is busted, the strip runin from font panel to unit is gone, its under a year old so shows how good sonys build quality is, but i have been told this is common on both sony and kenny units. Its the cdx m800 btw so is fold down. now wont eject cd and wen folded down the display goes.have to reset unit to eject cd.
Can i claim under one year guarantee even tho i dnt have receipt, was an i net purchase and i can get a thing from the bank sayin wen and wot was purchased as it shud have a product code next to the amount. will sony accept this as proof of purchase to give us a new one or repair for free?

they'll probably want to try and repair it first, if it's too expencive to repair they will replace it !

??? depend. best thing is to ring and ask. Difficulty is where you purchased the goods from as some companies will not honour the warranty if the supplier was not uk based, if you bought it from a shop usually you can take it back there and they deal with Sony

it was a uk based mail order company, however they seem to no longer carry the hu. jus got of the phone to audio shop and they can repair it and guarantee it for 50 so think im jus gonna go that way, i can imagine sony bein little bitches over it and i wud rather a shop warrenty as its so much easier to go back if wrong
Memo to all...keep all ya feckin receipt especially wen its comes to sony

happened on a pioneer of mine
cost about 30 quid to get it fixed so they will prob repair it
