Yes, tripod and slow the shutter down to second or two as a start. You must have enough ambient light (hence why a city centre street works well in these pics) and you must must must keep the camera perfectly still.

karen - i zoomed into the pic ur in my car can jus see ur head

dayzee- yeh tripod n must be on tight so no movement at all!
i used a nightmode on my cam

munch - cheers
learnt that if i upload my 2mb files on fotki the compression makes it all pixelly so shrunk it down to 800x600 before upload.
