Im trying to sort out insurance cover so i can go get my donor car today, anyone got any useful numbers? Adrian flux told me about a company called call collect (or something that sounds similar) but i think i wrote the number down wrong, and when they put me through directly my phone went dead!

Got that number off adrian flux, it was only a call forwarding center, and they dont have any companies on their books that offer short term insurance. Tried tesco, budget and liv vic, all sounded blank when i asked if they did cover for a day/week. Who else can i try?!

Just thought - Im insured fully comp on mine, so does that mean i could drive his with TPFT with his permission, or does that only work on cars of a lower insurance group?

if your are insured FC then you can drive a tax'd & MOT'd but uninsured car on the road 3rd Party as long as it is not left unattended at anytime on a public highway
i.e. it must be parked of the road or in private car parks etc
it can be done as i drove an mx6 for a month like this, and was all clarified by my insurer at the time

also, you'll probably find your FC insurance wont allow you to drive other cars unless you are 25 or over

Not all FC policies allow you to do this though so I'd check with your current insurer.
