I'm going to be doing tarmac...

Don't really want to go flying down some ditch & into a tree!

good mag, covers quite a lot (if you get it in your area) Track and Race Car... All about track racing n all. First issue had a feature on how to get a racing liscence & start racing - should still be available via back issues! (issue 3 is out in a week-or-2)

where is your local track?

doing tarmac means you run the risk of getting taken out by others, as happened to my mate

his cossie was parked in a gravel trap and somebody else ploughed into, writing it off - he was happy

there are plenty of airfield/track based rallys where you have nothing to hit, and nobody to hit you either

last time I went it cost £170 per car, but was for a full day. If I remember right though they did discounts for groups of 10+ but can't really remember to be exact

only race day was just in the corsa, but really want to do one of those red-letter thingies in a single seater

Car basically needs an MOT & meet a few safety requirements (things like seatbelts are ok, good condition seats & not loose, etc...)
