The Peugeot 407 "Silhouette" at 2004 Geneva International Motor Show

The 407 Silhouette is a driving enthusiasts dream car. It is the perfect vehicle for anyone who is looking to combine dynamic road driving with the ultimate track day performer. The 407 Silhouette is designed to be the ultimate expression of a performance saloon. Utilising the dynamic and sporting style of the saloon from which it is derived, the Silhouette takes the performance character of the standard vehicle to its ultimate conclusion - while reflecting faithfully the spirit of the original model.

The architecture of this "performance" two-seater 407 evokes the spirit of the Supertouring Championships, with a tubular chassis and a mid-mounted, longitudinally positioned power train.

With a length of 4.67 m and a width of 1.9 m, the Silhouette is slightly wider than the production car, thanks to the presence of air extraction vents on the front wings and down in the side skirts in front of the rear wings. On top of the roof (h= 1.37 m), there are two NACA type air intakes that collect the air needed to supply its 6-cylinder engine. With fully adjustable suspension, the ride height can be lowered by 4 cm for track use.

The smooth, metallic grey bodywork is manufactured from carbon-fibre. On each side of the car, a lion's head emblem is painted in darker grey and carefully matches the profile of each rear wing.

At the front, the driving lights of the production car have become air intakes on the Silhouette, while at the at the rear, two dual exhaust pipes and a carbon spoiler affirm the sporting intentions of this very special Peugeot 407.

Inside, the fascia panel, central console and front door panels are based on those of the saloon. However, the Silhouette's trim further adds to the sporting theme, with the use of materials such as carbon-fibre, black or red leather and vermiculated black paint used on the instrument panel and central console. The two bucket seats incorporate leather and black 3D mesh trim.

The steering wheel incorporates a screen that displays the optimum "racing line" for circuit use. The optimum "lines" are based on extremely accurate, satellite supplied, cartographic data that allows the driver to overlay his own data with that supplied by satellite.

Main specifications:

- Length = 4.67 m
- Width = 1.90 m
- Height = 1.37 m (- 4 cm on circuit)
- Wheelbase = 2.72 m
- Naturally aspirated, 2,946 cc, V6 petrol engine producing 230 kW (approximately 320 bhp).
- Manual 6-speed ?dogbox' transmission (sequentially controlled).
- Dual wishbone front and rear suspension with anti-roll bars (adjustable at the front when driving).
- Rack and pinion power steering
- Ventilated front and rear brakes.
- Tyres: front: 235 x 35 x 19 / rear: 265 x 30 x 19

waste of money to build one...

The amount it'll cost u - probably mid 20k's... or more, you can get a lot nicer car s...

If it was cheap people would buy it - but as with the same thing with most cars these days, people always go 'well actually think about what u could have for your money when buying that vauxhall monaro' or whatever

Did u see the 206 cc on the rally today - what a bag of shit compared to the old 206 rally version... handles like shit, breaks at the drop of a hat...

I personally wouldn't spend 30k on a pug. I'd probably buy myself a nice scooby WRX or evo and pocket some change.

it's a 307cc, it's a brand new car, the 206 was a bag of shit at first, what you saw last season was probably a decades worth of work.
