In my new Job we supply the signmaking and printing industries with everythng from polycarbonate sheeting to Versacam printers. But I noticed some Avery 10yr vinyl roll used for putting livery on vehicles. This stuff is impressive. It really looks like carbon fibre, not some shitty stickt stuff you buy in Halfords. Its £1500 for a 50m roll! This stuff is amazingly conformable, you heat it up to 80 ddegrees and then you can put your fist down through it making it stetch something like 1000% and it will return to its original size after cooling.
My mate with the black MGZR wanted me to get a price for doing his bonnett. Ive spoken to one of my customers who said they would do the job for him for about £50. I'll sell him the vinyl at cost and all he has to do is pay to get it put on. Costing him about £280 in total.. Thats a bit cheaper than £600 / 800 for a carbon bonnet.

I suppose for pure cosmetic reasons its good, but nearly £300 is quite a bit for a cosmetic thing like that.
Plus, some people will have a go when they realize its not real carbon.

True again, but you'd have to get really really close or take a flame to it to knoeits not carbon, It even has a textured weave through it!
Personally I wouldnt go for it myself but he's adament he wants a carbon bonnet.

Ive seen lots of copied versions of Carbon Fibre and trust me, when you've seen the real thing, they look nowhere near correct!
I have various carbon fibre parts on the rally car and holding a copy up next to them, you notice the real stuff sparkles in different lights and the fake stuff looks really flat.
Plus after time, the fake stuff might start to peel...
