cut the remote wire coming from the stereo, should be blue or blue/white, you sure you connectted the wires to the back of it when you put the cover back on?

I'm sure the red/grey wire coming out of back of iso block behind stereo is the one I cut..

as for making it work again, very common problem this. when the wiring lomb is unplugged it usually pulls a couple of pins from the socket off the circuit board cos they are put on crap in the first place. just resolder the pins back on.
