Apparantly they are going to abolish them and put petrol prices up to compensate. So this is good if you don't do many miles but for the mile munchers its gonna be a ball ache.

whats the point of actually having a tax disc in your car? They got all this new system that means they can check it on the computers n shit...so why have them? Obviously still pay for it but theres no need for the disc anymore

Fantastic idea, no paperwork, no SORN, no going to the post office, no tax disc theft, no faffing about with banded prices, no waiting for the V5 to come through before driving the car, I'm all for it.
