It's not left and right handed watches, the movement was reversed to fit the chronograph movement
It just so happens it results in the crown on the opposite side
The pushers are still on the right hand side

Not that one but you get left handed watches with the crown specifically on the other side, normally expensive.
On my phone and this is just the first one I found.

Link doesn't work. U-Boat watches are all 'left hookers' (my favourite brand ever but they're absolutely massive, and unfortunately I'm not a rapper)

I've got a U-Boat flightdeck carbon 45mm (big but not silly)....rarely wear it and the metal is soft IMO so the bezel marks easily.
Wreckless purchase by all accounts. Should have stopped myself

They couldn't fit in anymore references to proper brands if they tried.

Are you suggesting U-Boat isn't a 'proper' brand?

Wrong choice of words but they're overpriced (compared to most overpriced watches) and they've IMO taken more than 'inspiration' from loads of brands who have been about for a lot longer than 10 years.

I remember when U-Boat first appeared and they were quite reasonably priced but they are ridiculously expensive now.

Swatch CEO took over and promptly bumped prices from 350 to over a grand (Classico). Mine had an rrp of 2295 iirc

One on watchfinder isn't any cheaper than a brand new one or am I missing something?

Remember we had that massive debate about particular watches pretty much holding their money and then actually increasing in value as they get older..

I remember yes but that question was completely irrelevant to that.

Indeed, although it wasn't the one online. I work literally across the road from the shop in the royal exchange and they just got one in, managed to get my Submariner service included in the price so saved about 300.

I find it so strange, that so many photographers take the picture at 10:10

The real reason for the setting? Aesthetics. The 10:10 position gives the clock or watch a number of benefits:
The hands are not overlapping, so they're fully and clearly visible and their styling can be admired.
The arrangement of the hands is symmetrical, which people generally find more pleasant than asymmetry, making the product more appealing to customers.
The manufacturer's logo, usually in the center of the face under the 12, is not only visible but nicely framed by the hands.
Additional elements on the face (like date windows or secondary dials), usually placed near the 3, 6, or 9, won't be obscured.
According to the folks at Timex (who set their products at 109:36 exactly), the standard setting used to be 8:20, but this made the face look like it was frowning. To make the products look "happier," the setting was flipped into a smile (occasionally, you'll still see the 8:20 setting on some clocks or watches where the manufacturer's logo is at bottom of the face above the 6).

Thats a near perfect watch, exactly like i'd choose, the only thing i'm not keen on is the lightening bolt second hand.

What about an AirKing, same Oyster style (minus the polished mid links) but a more basic look.. Also much more affordable!
