Was only a few weeks ago he was seen on the motorway doing over a ton while on his mobile.
(Clarkson is a god) lol
now thats hitting the nail on the head!!, everyone on this website breaks the law imo except from a fair few. for example the meets that happen, they are illegal, as you need cruise insurance, there are so many examples to be said. just because hes not ashamed to admit it dost make him any different imo
cruise insurance
Most of our meets involve parking somewhere then drinking/eating/talking in the pub, I'm sure thats not illegal.

i think you have missed the point ian and (i think) danny made, yes everone on here will have or will at some point break the law they just dont come on here and brag about it like luke did. thats the only thig that annoyed most people on here the fact he thought it neccesary to brag about it.

Do you actually READ what Luke types? Completely slating folk for no reason other than "It's his opinion". Folk have reacted to his opinions before, but now that he's injured, it's "harsh". As I said before though, I wouldn't wish it on anybody, including Luke. But don't get on your wee high horses about folk sharing their opinion.

Clarkson brags about breaking the speed limit all the time though?
Yet not many have a bad word to say about him
Clarkson bragging about doing 186mph on a public road
I love the man,im not dissing him just showing an example.

but no one is saying this was because of him speeding, the general view from most CS members was that he spoke to people badly on here, based on that people will assume this is how he is in real life. if thats the case then people will make their own opinions on whether this WAS an unprovoked attack

Like i said nova, we dont come into contact with Jeremy Clarkson, I dont think he uses this site often. Its different when someone who breaks the law is on a forum you use and is openly admitting to it, people will obviously say something. This is going way off topic now though, the thread is up to let us know of Luke's progress.

No, they are saying that just because he's been the victim of a nasty attack, they won't just forget his previous behaviour.

CS events are properly insured as far as our legal obligation to the public is concerned.
I think you're missing the point somewhat. This isn't about whether things are illegal or not. If I drove home later at 2am on an empty motorway at 90mph in a well maintained car in good weather I would be breaking the law. Now that might not be correct or right in everyone's eyes, but it's also my prerogative as a driver to interpret the conditions and make a judgement about what I want to do.
I wouldn't come on here posting that I had blatantly disregarded the law and that if someone tried to catch me I would pretend it wasn't me and make up some story about there being another random car in the area who was speeding and protest my innocence. I would generally take the fine and points as I've been caught. I also wouldn't go crazy and do 140mph, and exploit my talent, skill, bravery, whatever you want to call it. I would stay sensible on a public road. The car and I can and have both been quicker around an airfield, which is where behaviour like that should stay.
Please consider that there is some scale of behaviour that we are talking about, and also therefore some skill required to interpret what is being said. If you don't have the skill and can't differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate behaviour then you may have difficulty understanding my point. But what I am not saying is those people who break the law are bad and those who don't are good, because that isn't where we are.
I also would ask whether you consider his other behaviour, namely being nasty and offensive is worthy of defence.

nova read what people are saying seriously.
they are saying that on the general view of CS members he was an idiot on the forums and therefore this is their view of what he maybe like in real life and this MIGHT possibly explain why this may NOT have been an unprovoked attack. These are all just assumptions of course.

Some random person comes along and throws a pole through his window because hes a cunt?

And people do get attacked for no reason
I got a smack in a jaw while out drinking years ago, didnt know the guy, when i asked what the hell id done he said "he felt like hitting someone".
Maybe he hit me coz im a cunt on internet forums,i guess ill never know

karma is just one of those things, u believe in it or u dont. however no one knows the true facts. BUT people will assume that from the way he speaks on this forum is how he is in REAL life.

I think it was unprovoked. There's more reliable ways to injure someone than to try and pull of a shot like that.
For me it's a question of my level of sympathy. If it were someone I respected I would be distraught. If it were someone who has called names in the past I would say look forward to being called names.
