your all saying problems after excesive drink, Im not arguing that. I mean drinking in moderation which does nothing.

Compared to smoking one or two fags which could cause these problems.

yeah, I agree Cosmo, smoking is worse than drinking in moderation.

the thing is though, giving up is hard (i did it twice) and people say 'just stop' but it's not that easy, you don't get people saying that to alcoholics, or heroin addicts

They are all just weak.

To be honest cosmo, if you drank in a pub with a half decent air extraction system you would probably be in less danger than standing at a zebra crossing in rush hour.

What pisses me off is people who moan about about the smell of smoke....sure im biased, but if i go out on the piss I usually smell of kebab in the morning. Either that or the puke from the bloke he threw up over me in the kebab queue*

*generalising, but I get fed up of binge drinkers puking and me treading in it

He has the right idea though.

Don't start.

He would be telling a different story if he had started smoking.

I didnt start smoking because it was cool.

I started smoking because I was massively stressed with the stuff going on at the same time as my exams.

BUT, the bonus was, I did look cool

Smoking probably didn't de stress you until you started smoking and needed a smoke for the nicotine though.

I have never heard of starting smoking to stop stress.

Asda have stopped selling them to under 18's and everybody else is following suit afaik.

I do that anyway. (bite my nails.)

It's not a poor excuse anyway it's the reason I started.

I shouldn't have done though, and I agree with raising the age limit.

I might be wrong here but I can't see how you can go from sitting there being stressed and thinking i'll start smoking.

I know when you're a smoker you think it stops the stress but how does a non smoker think that starting will stop the stress?

because my parents both smoked John, it's their fault, they smoked when they were stressed, so I immediately thought to do it.

There is a darker issue here though.

Let's not forget that the age of these people snuffing it are generally people who smoked non filtered cigarettes. They were also exposed to any number of carcinogenics in their lifetime.

These people get conveniently looped into the 'lung cancer' goverment spin on the smoking figures quoted....

PS had a glass or 5 of wine tonight, not going to lose sleep over it

My spelling might suffer though
