Not everyone is into "modding" cars

My best mate is a car nut but can't stand cars that are modified to the point where they don't look standars (ish)

He loves the Idea of tuning them though

The bloke was a bit harsh to spark the guy with downsyndrome but I would have reacted in a similar way if it happened to my little bro's

Agree with bubblevaux totally on this one.

It's all very well us lot keep watching the vid over & over and re-evaluating our decisions on what we'd do, but in an instant like that, I can tell you now, the DS guy would be on the deck.

I can't be bothered to read from page 3 to 7, I guess we all think all forms of violence is bad, none of it is right, but sometimes we do things we regret/that are bad and that's life.

How can anyone say that he is a bad parent when obviously his first reaction is to defend his child, everyone would have a different way of reacting but anyone suggesting they would just have words needs to have a rethink because if the down syndrome guy doesn't know that kicking kids is wrong then what exactly are a few words going to do.

im sorry but people saying theres no time to act or think, yes there is it takes milliseconds to assess a situation and decide if you are going to hit the kid or not.

i guess we can take from the thread basically some people act with there fists without thinking and some dont.

but for those saying they would strike regardless if someone assaulted there child, well what would happen if a group of 15 men all brandishing knives kicked your child in the same way the DS lad did in the video would you lash out without thinking about it then or would you take the millisecond to think starting a fight with a group of lads may be the wrong decision?

And yes i know this situation wont happen and its not like what happened in the video, but the point still stands would you fight regardless in this situation like every one has already said or grab your child and run to safty.

Every opinion counts mobby, that's what discussions are all about, some good points raised by jasper karrot, I suppose 15 men brandishing knives wouldn't pick on a kid though they'd look for a rival gang instead......But the question needs answering, so I'd pick up my child and run to safety, however I'd never take my child near a gang of 15 men in the first place as I'm a good parent.

you are completely altering the situations here. i have said if someone hit my son i would have them. how do you conclude from that, that i would take on 15 knife wielding maniacs??

if 15 knife wielding maniacs were after me and my son, of course id fucking run.

stop trying to twist what people have said. end of the day someone hit a kid and he got knocked out. the bloke obviously reacted flippantly, and anyone who says that stand back, assess the situation, well im sorry thats bullshit.

if you saw a car crash about to happen, would you "assess the situation", or do what comes instinctively? instinct takes hold of you, and you do what happens instinctively.

you seriously make me fuckin laugh. you have now said, all based on me saying that i would launch at someone who kicked my kid, that i cant let my kid have an hamster, and i would take on 15 knife wielding maniacs. iv got 6 people with me now, all pissing themselves at your comments.

cheers

well thats excellent i hope they think your cool.

but yes i know im changing the situation i actually said that in my first sentance, but you still felt the need to tell me great.

you still missed the point though you said if someone hit your son you would lash out through instinct, you said that yourself, so if a gang walked past kicked your son and pulled knives you would attack them as instinct would make you do it.

but you said you wouldnt.

basically meening you do have the time to think about the situation and you wouldnt just lash out regardless of the situation.

but let me guess your going to compleatly overlook that point and tell me ive changed the situation compleatly again

and instinct does not just happen it is still a concious process that has different stages, were sentient and dont work through basic animal instinct very little if any of what we do happens through instinc theres a comples set of mental, physical and emotion ques that fire off before any action we take.

the fact you said you would run from a gang if they hit your child out of the blue meens you could choose to not hit the disabled child but would hit him, and that fine as thats what you would feel comfartable doing.

the point i was trying to debate was wether or not people would have the time and the choice to choose to not hit the kid which you pleainly would have.

hope you and your friends are still laughing, nothing like spending the afternoon on corsasport with 7 of your friends

its a simple mind process to realise that there are multiple people around you than just one.

when in a situation of intimadacy or fear, the mind immediatley chooses fight or flee.

when in a situation of anger, the mind does whatever the person dictates, in this scenario, one man kicking a child.

in my opinion, and this is MY opinion, if someone kicked someones sibling, and that person didnt react, id feel a bit let down. there is nothing wrong whatsoever in defending your own.
