I went out last night and made the most of it.
I can understand it from the other point of view because i was a quitter for two years and I hated coming home smelling of smoke.
To be honest I think I'll just quit.

So is drink driving, the police don't do a very good job there, do they?
They seem intent on spending money employing people to go round and waggle their finger at smokers, but not attempt to catch people who could potentially kill a whole family/train load of people after having a few and driving home.
Priorities are all wrong.
Binge drinking and the effects from it cost the NHS far more money than smoking, drug taking is a bigger problem, I'm sure you've been threatened by a pilled up nobend?
Smoking is near the bottom of the pile of evils in the country which need sorting.

thats not true, more money is spent on terminally ill smokers than binge drinkers.
Drinkers may cause more A&E cases but smokers need long term support an drugs.

according to the goverment national statistic's the average age women live to is 72.3 years,so his grans smaoked 30 years and seems to be still going well for smoking a killer substance.lookslike she's doing well
and considering the average death rate is 72.3,three of my grandparents died due to smoking all in their 8os so the average rate of a non smoker is in their 70's yet my grandparents who died from smoking all lived in to their late 80s ?

I've just skim read but are people actually sticking up for smokers rights here
If you choose to smoke surely it's not too much to ask to stand outside so not to pollute the people that choose not to smoke?

Jut to clear up, I don't disagree that smoking is bad, I know it is, but there are other bad things too which need addressing, I don't think that's debatable really.
The ban is good in places where you eat, definitely, and the chances are it's not a bad thing in pubs, it won't affect me, so whatever, it's fine, I don't really care.
I don't honestly know why I'm arguing, the ban is there, some people are happy, some aren't, so it's not going to get anywhere
If it's going to prevent some people getting cancer and ending up in a coffin, then it's good

so gases which travel through the air all of a sudden stop travelling because of a door?

Smoking isn't banned though they've just been told to do it in their own air space, it isn't even an issue up here anymore it's just a given.

exhaust fumes will be much much more diluted than a room full of cigarette smoke

i don't think that people should be allowed to smoke around other non-smokers i.e. in pubs and stuff but the ban is not going to stop this.i know of a couple of pubs where there will be a bouncer on the door and people that are not regulars or have a problem with people smoking in there will not be allowed in.as the landlords know they will get just as much business from the local smokers.

hows passive smoking worse than actual smoking? the smoker inhales the smoke from the air and the smoke from the fag?

the smoke a person inahles from a fag is filter in the filter at the base of the cigarette in some form, also iirc when the smoke is exhaled the body processes it in some way that makes it more toxic
