So what do you hope to earn when you are qualified?
I've never really 'got' why mechanical engineers get paid so much tbh

not to go into too much detail but it fair exceeds mechanical knowledge. We use IT based syetms that control and optimise HVAC systems to save energy and therefore cost. We need in depth knowledge of these systems as well as a mechanical appreciation in order to consoldate whether savings are feasable. Also I am heading up our own remote department at present which is not easy

I earn enough to single handedly keep a 125k roof over my head, pay all the bills and still have enough for myself.

Errrr, thats pretty much a JD of a mechanical engineer matey.....
And TBH, given the stuff companies like Hevacomp are kicking out, I reckon an Architectural technician could do it too

Not going to argue with you over corsasport but its totally different to hevacomp in all honestly. Mechnaical engineers have no say over control lements of a HVAC system, and neither do electrical companies
Controls are alot more diverse and thats why bluechip compnies we work with employ 3 to 4 contractors to look after a HVAC system as a whole.
if there was one sole company who could do all they would strip the market clean

I'm a Property Developer mate, been going about 5 years now.
Me and my Dad do that when the chance arrives, buy a bit of land, stick a few timber frame houses on it, sit on it for 6months then sell them, as you'll know it's a bit of a big gamble first isn't it, well done mate!
