Yes there is always certain clubs but as a rule of thumb football clubs do not make massive profits.

Anyway how did ballack get on to the takings of a club.

Yeah I knew what you meant. I was just trying to show Sooty that Utd arent making huge profits to both pay off the loans that ARE secured on the club and also provide loads and loads of money from signings.

Man Utd are in a bit of a rut, they need a good season next year, like 1 domestic cup, runners up at least in prem, and 1/4 semis of europe. not getting passed group stages this year really fucked them over.

I mentioned it before. We had 35mil last year, but he only spent around 20mil with people going out so has 15mil of that left, plus whatever they give ontop this season which would be atleast 15-20mil.

Glazer does not have a huge amount of cash to hand, his company is a plc, or inc what ever they are called in america.

All of it is tied up in equity and shares, and yets face it if his back is againist the wall will he invest in a football club or his amercian companys.

though all what ifs.

Most club has there savour, Walker, Haywood, etc.

Yeah definitly, going out in the group phases will really hit your profits this year. We made 25mil last season solely from the Champs league which is a huge amount for any club.

i think you have the wrong end of the stick... if you have a 30k loan on a 30k car... are you 30k in debt... do you exclude the value of your equity?

just read this...

FERGIE CAN SPLASH THE CASH
Sir Alex Ferguson has been told he can spend big as Manchester United bid to catch Chelsea.

United finished second in the title race to the Blues this season, and will be hoping to go one better next term.

But with the champions already having added Michael Ballack to their squad for next season, the pressure is now on Fergie to succeed in the transfer market.

And the Glazer family, who own United following their takeover last summer, say they're willing to back the Scot all the way.

"If Sir Alex Ferguson really wants a certain player then the Glazers would be willing to push whatever button required to get that player," a spokesman for the Americans told The Manchester Evening News.

The paper says Lyon's Mahamadou Diarra, Juan Roman Riquelme of Villarreal, Jean Makoun (Lille), Aldo Duscher (Deportivo La Coruna) and Brazilian club Corinthian's Javier Mascherano are all potential midfield targets.

But Lyon want a whopping £24million for Mali international Diarra.

United fans have feared since the takeover that the club would struggle to compete in the market with estimated debts of £540million.

Edwin van der Sar, Ji-sung Park, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra have all come in since at a cost of around £18million.

"The debt has no bearing on expenditure," the Glazers' spokesman continued.

"The money available for the transfer budget comes out of cash flow from the club. There is cash around and a portion of that can go towards transfer fees.

"Of course the only way to demonstrate that to the fans is by spending money during the summer for the players the manager identifies. We will have to wait and see what happens on that."
