Really need £3000
1200 for car
1200 for insurance
I want to pay insurance in full as its one less thing to pay off monthly

My bank wouldn't give me a loan when I was 18 with a full time job. Personally I wouldn't do it, everything I own I've worked my tits off and saved for, 2 years on my bank keep sending me letters saying I can have so much on a loan but I really don't want the hassle of it all, when I can save up and have what I want. Sure I want a nice car but if I can't afford it, you should never spend outside what you can afford, unless you have the money for it, don't buy it simples. Why do you think Britain is in such a state financially? Because so many people are spending outside their means - you'll only regret it. The only loan I plan on taking is a mortgage.

Thats a bif maths fail right there
£1200 + £1200 = £2400 not £3k.

yes pay it in full, paying monthy works out more expensive anyway eg elephant adds on 33%.
also go a named driver for say first 2 years, thats what I did, didn't get any NCB but saved prob £1500+ and I doubt if I had 4 YNCB my insurance now would be much cheaper.

anyway your credit rating will be poor so your talking a loan for 30%APR prob or more anyway, not worth it.

These days it's not even up to the employee Colin So even if some shmuck wanted to throw money at this kid, the computer will probably spit in his face and call him a fanny.

But if you're rounding up then surely it's £2.5k?
I really think you'd be daft to get the loan. I know what it's like, being so horrendously desperate to get some wheels so you go daft and get a loan to do so. Bad idea.

So you want to get a loan and in that you are going to cover the insurance cost because it is one less thing to pay monthly?! Are you serious?! you will be paying back the loan monthly you fuck wit. All you are going is swapping it from a payment to an insurance company to a payment to a bank, which will be at a far higher interest rate.

I think if it's got to 7 pages and he still wants to pay £4k for a 1200 quid car then there's nothing we can say or do.
Get the loan and enjoy your car that you'll be stuck with for four years because it'll never be worth anywhere near what the loan to buy it costs you.
Then when you want to change your car, hopefully you'll have some birthday money and a third part time job because you won't want an extra monthly payment while you're still paying for insurance you stopped using three years earlier.
