Jimbo, I so look forward to arriving in der farterland, complete with RAF roundels and flying helmet and then at least matching your time before sinking loads of lovely german beer and collapsing in a hotel room in a year or so.

Would have been amusing if it was the other way round mine. Would have screwed their magazine and feature

Just wondering why you think it was ridiculous? I found it a very good read

That is exactly the problem, it's a good read.

Dale who Redline got to drive the ST's wasn't allowed to drive the standard ST so the laptime isn't a true reflection of the standards cars ability, also the laptimes they have printed in the magazine are all wrong.

The standard 8.51 that is stated for the Focus ST is not Bridge to Gantry, that time is a full lap so is more like a 8.25 BTG.

I haven't got the magazine to hand so not sure what time the tuned Focus got BTG but I'm sure it wasn't lower than a 8.25 which the standard car is capable of in the right hands i.e. Dale but as the owner of the standard car didn't want Dale to drive it they couldn't get a true representation of the BTG of a standard Focus ST so the whole feature is nonsense.

i think the difference between bridge to gantry and full lap time is actually smaller than that you know, considering they dont have to do the bridge to startline section that makes up your bridge to gantry time, but they obviously finish at the line rather than the gantry, i would say 15 seconds difference max, someone cleverer than me could probably work it out more accurately though...
