Agreed, Id never take any big risks near anyone else, and expect the same courtesy from others.

Looks like another topic where Chips constructive wording makes him look like a driving god.
Happens all the time on Mig when he is being slated.Always has a back-up excuse which yet again, makes him look correct in what he is saying.
Gives off the impression that he is the master of everything.
Id give up if i were you guys.No matter what, you's will never be right.(In his eyes anyway).

Strange little fella!
Amazing what people can choose to read into something on the internet, ive clearly said no such thing, I can pedal a car fairly well, but have never claimed to be a driving god.

ojc has some awesome comments!!! seems a bit of a hero
i helped chip build the nova at xmas last year, and made some of the steering arms etc for him, nova is going to be twitchy first time out, 10th out, all a learning curve and chips working with what he has.
if it was me id love to say to whoever on here seems so confident of their 'driving abilities' not to spin the nova to go to the next track day and say to you ' here are the keys, you break it, you pay for it'
and see how many times you lose it, as has been said its quite a weighty car, silly short wheel base and as such a new car to learn in.
kiddies comments, etc are abit uncalled for, but too many people on here seem very quick to comment. its like slash's post last night about beating a 106gti in his sport....if anyone knew he actually runs a sri130 lump in his corsa, and people were getting well wound up
fair enough some people see it as a bit dangerous where he spun, but like driving on the road, you yourself being behind a car have to judge distances and be in control incase the car in front slams on, spins etc.

Philip, the ironic thing is there were loads of crashes that day, all from people who no one is moaning about their driving, and my car is still in one piece and yet apparently im the dangerous one, lol

true, but maybe because people on here and most other places sort of know you they can take the piss, whereas they might have no idea who the others were, like hardly anyones commented about gav/jonlems tigra, the audi etc, just urs because people know the car!

Dont know mate, find it all quite amusing to be honest, I had a couple of very load speed spins while practicing how quickly I could bring the back round on a tight hair pin which is the best way to get round there in my car, and one spin while pushing it on the chicane, all nowhere near contacting anyone else, and all without any incident, so to me it seems like a load of fuss over nothing, I see far worse than that happen at EVERY track day ive ever driven at or watched for the last 15-20 years, including this one where several cars were crashed and one even ended up on its roof.

If the car is incapable of staying on the track, then what is it doing on the track? If it's a handful tell me what is the point? Better off just having a C20XE well setup handling wise that wouldn't be a handful and would be quicker around a track.

The point is to develop the car, its the same thing that vauxhall do when they bring out a new performance car, you build it, put it on a track, test it, change it, put it on a track again, and eventually you end up with something that works.
If I wanted to take the easy option and just buy a car that handles I would, but I enjoy the challenge of creating something myself.
Ive designed the suspesnion myself, and me and my mates (including philip here) have then built it, Ive specced and built the engine myself, I will be mapping it myself, I enjoy the challenge, others dont, so they just buy an evo and get their results that way, thats fine if they want to and I dont slag them off for it, we all have different interests.

You say a majority of the time you had great drifts. If that vid is anything to go by then I disagree, seems like everytime the back end steps out you lift off and get thrown in whatever direction the car is pointing. Pretty dangerous really.

The only place I was sideways much in that lap from the video much was round the hairpin and you cant see it, unless you can see through walls now? lol
I dont remember saying "I had great drifts" though, can you remind me where that was please?
Adam_B, I guess you have a different idea of what is fun to me then mate, controlling a car thats dancing around with a lively backend under the power is fun to me personally.
It was on 195 road wet tyres on the rear and 205 trackday semi-slicks on the front

Just read somewhere else that the Tigra had 888's on the front and road tyres on the rear, good work

For those who want to comment, at least have a look at an actual video of what I was driving it like.

yeah i like a car to kind of flow, drifts and back end movement is fine (ooh err) but i like it predictable and adjustable, your Nova just looks really choppy and very much not predictable Fair play though you have built it all yourself and if you like it then awesome I would have had the wider sticky tires on the back, how many horse powers is it?
I ran 888s on my VX and it was really quick round oulton park and the nurburgring but no where near as much fun on the standard ditchfinder bridgestones!

Track days are about learning the capabillities of your car and yourself, without the pressures and plod on the road, but mostly enjoying yourself and taking your car home in one piece.
The only thing that would slightly peevv me of would be somebody constantly spinning/coming of all the time. wether it be deliberate or not.
